AMMAN — Israeli occupying authorities are considering land
annexation in the West Bank under the name “Nature Reserves Project.”

The reserve in discussion is already declared as a
Palestinian natural reserve.
On Dec. 29, 2022, a new Israeli government was formed and
stated that Jewish people have an exclusive and indisputable right to all parts
of the land, including what is already Palestinian land, applying it to the
West Bank.
While settlements are considered illegal under international
laws, work is underway to register them in accordance with the laws of the
occupation.
On Monday, Israeli authorities are set to discuss the
annexation of half a million dunums of land from the West Bank. The current
land covers an area of 634,920 dunums, approximately 634 square kilometers and
represents 11.2 percent of the West Bank’s total area.
Meanwhile, the second part of the classification is
approximately 843,922 dunums, equivalent to 843.9 square kilometers, accounting
for 14.2 percent of the West Bank’s total area, which were declared by the
occupation as state lands after 1979.
The third part of the lands, reaches 666,327 dunums,
equivalent to 666.2 square kilometers, and represents 11.7 percent of the West
Bank’s total areas. These lands are currently being prepared for registration
plans, after being surveyed, and work is underway to register them in
accordance with the law of the occupation.
