According to Israeli sources, the government expressed concerns that global carriers might halt operations to Israel after the missile struck near the country's main international airport. These concerns were soon realized as major airlines began requesting clarifications regarding the security situation.

Among the carriers that suspended flights were European airlines including Lufthansa, Swiss International Air Lines, and Austrian Airlines. The growing safety fears also led to the postponement of Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides' planned visit to Israel.

Earlier, Cairo News correspondent Dana Abu Shamsieh reported from occupied Jerusalem that Ben Gurion Airport had been shut down to both arrivals and departures following the attack, with several injuries confirmed.

She also reported massive explosions in both occupied Jerusalem and the West Bank, noting that air raid sirens were sounding across Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and multiple settlements in the West Bank.

Previous Incidents
This is not the first time the airport has been targeted. Last month, Israel’s Channel 12 reported a similar shutdown of Ben Gurion Airport following the activation of air raid sirens across central Israel, as the Israeli military detected two missiles launched from Yemen.
