Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa officially declared the Gaza Strip a famine zone on Wednesday, amid the ongoing Israeli blockade and military aggression.

During a press conference with the emergency operations task force responding to Gaza's humanitarian crisis, Mustafa called on the entire UN system to immediately activate its mechanisms and treat Gaza as a region experiencing full-scale famine.
“We urge the international community to enforce UN resolutions prohibiting the use of starvation as a weapon of war,” Mustafa stated.
He also demanded that UN member states fulfill their legal obligations under international humanitarian law by acknowledging the famine and acting urgently.
The Prime Minister pledged that the Palestinian government would continue to confront the Israeli assault and famine, working tirelessly with the international community to save lives and begin the process of recovery and reconstruction.
