Iran has submitted a strongly worded protest to the United Nations against Jordan, accusing it of "facilitating hostile acts against Iranian territory."

The protest was detailed in a letter sent on Sunday by Iran's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN, Amir Saeid Iravani, addressed to both Secretary-General António Guterres and the President of the Security Council.
The letter outlined two primary demands from Amman:
Cease all support or facilitation of what it described as "hostile acts."
Prevent the continued use of Jordanian territory, airspace, and facilities for activities targeting the Islamic Republic, as alleged in the letter.
Iravani emphasized that his country "reserves the right to hold Jordan accountable under international law for its actions," which he deemed a violation of legal norms. He warned that "continued efforts to distort facts and evade responsibility could lead to a dangerous escalation threatening international peace and security."
The Iranian Ambassador called on the Security Council to address the "root causes of the crisis," including what he termed the illegal recourse to the use of force and collusion with governments that enabled these measures against Iran, in full compliance with the UN Charter.
Furthermore, Iravani asserted "Jordan's direct responsibility for the extensive human, material, and infrastructural damage inflicted on Iran as a result of these acts." He noted that Iranian authorities are conducting a comprehensive assessment and documentation of all damages, which reportedly include civilian casualties and the destruction of vital infrastructure.
The Iranian envoy concluded the letter by reaffirming his country’s right to pursue all available international legal and judicial avenues to ensure full accountability and compensation for damages.
