NEW YORKThe World Food Program (WFP) reported that its attempt to resume aid deliveries to northern Gaza, which is on the brink of famine, was 'largely unsuccessful.' اضافة اعلان

In a statement, the WFP said that it sent a convoy of food aid comprising 14 trucks to northern Gaza. However, the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) returned the convoy after a three-hour wait at the Wadi Gaza checkpoint, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.

Deputy Executive Director of WFP, Carl Skau stated, "Although today’s convoy did not make it to the north to provide food to the people who are starving, the UN World Food Program continues to explore every possible means to do so.”

A senior UN aid official also informed the Security Council last week that at least 576,000 people in Gaza, approximately a quarter of its population, are one step away from famine.

Notably, WFP had temporarily halted aid deliveries on February 20 due to unstable security conditions.
