The spokesperson for the Gaza Municipality, Husni Muhanna, confirmed that border crossings have only operated on a very limited basis since the start of the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran. He noted that only about 10% of the actual required number of trucks have entered the Strip, signaling a severe reduction in essential supplies as the international community remains preoccupied with the regional conflict.اضافة اعلان

Muhanna explained that the Gaza Strip is witnessing a rapid and dangerous humanitarian deterioration due to the continued closure of crossings and tightened restrictions on the entry of aid and goods, directly impacting the lives of more than 2.4 million Palestinians.

He added that this shortage has manifested in local markets through skyrocketing prices for food, vegetables, and basic commodities, alongside an acute crisis in fuel and cooking gas. This has caused significant damage to vital sectors, including water, sanitation, municipal services, and healthcare.

Muhanna warned that continuing these policies amidst the regional escalation threatens the food security of more than 1.5 million people, particularly vulnerable groups such as children, the sick, and the elderly. He called on the international community and the United Nations to pressure the Israeli occupation to open the crossings and ensure the unrestricted entry of aid and basic services.

He pointed out that international preoccupation with the war on Iran is being exploited to intensify restrictions on Gaza, which portends a worsening humanitarian catastrophe and a total collapse of basic services if the international community does not act urgently to protect civilians.
