AMMAN — The Minister of Awqaf Islamic Affairs and Holy Places
Mohammad Khalaileh, remarked on Monday that employees of Al-Aqsa Mosque are
consistently subject to arrests, deportations, beatings, and harassment by
Israeli occupation forces.
During a meeting with the Palestinian Parliamentary Committee, Khalaileh added that the Israeli assaults on Islamic
and Christian holy sites continue, Al-Mamlaka TV reported. He noted that
incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque persist, and the number of Israeli extremists is
on the rise. This is coupled with the emergence of previously unseen worship
rituals.
He pointed out that these incursions and
harassments, shielded by Israeli police, sometimes taint the sanctity of
Al-Aqsa Mosque from within. Meanwhile, he revealed that the Jerusalem Awqaf
employs around 850 individuals, including guards, workers, imams, and
preachers.
