Hebrew media outlets reported that eight soldiers were injured, three of them seriously, in clashes last night in Bint Jbeil, Southern Lebanon.

Yesterday, the Israeli occupation army began an incursion into Bint Jbeil—the largest city south of the Litani River in Southern Lebanon—on the eve of today’s "Washington Meeting," which brings together the Lebanese and Israeli ambassadors to the United States. This comes at a time when Tel Aviv is pushing to establish new field realities on the ground.اضافة اعلان

Israeli Occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that "the fighting in Lebanon will continue," and that "the focus today is on the fighting in Bint Jbeil."

Netanyahu added: "We are no longer talking about five locations, but rather a solid and deep security belt in Southern Lebanon to eliminate the threat of an invasion by Hezbollah and to push back the threat of anti-tank missiles."

Lebanon hopes that today’s meeting will yield an agreement on a ceasefire, paving the way for the anticipated negotiation track between the two parties, which Cyprus may host.

Information indicated that the Lebanese Ambassador, Nada Hamada Muaouad, "has clear instructions" from Lebanese President Joseph Aoun to "demand a ceasefire."
