Severely Cold Weather as the Low-Pressure System Deepens
Temperatures will drop slightly on Monday, with cold conditions prevailing across most regions, while the weather will be relatively mild in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Low-level clouds are expected to appear over northern and central parts of the Kingdom, and southwesterly winds will be active, stirring up dust in desert areas.

At night, the Kingdom will be affected by a low-pressure system centered over the island of Cyprus, bringing very cold and partly to fully cloudy conditions. Rainfall is expected in the northern regions, gradually extending to central areas. The rain may be heavy at times, accompanied by thunderstorms and hail, which could lead to flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas. In the late-night hours, precipitation may extend to limited parts of the southwestern regions. Westerly winds will become active, with strong gusts reaching speeds of 60–70 km/h.

The Meteorological Department has warned of the risk of flash floods overnight in valleys and low-lying areas in northern and central regions, including the northern and central Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. It also cautioned against strong winds and powerful gusts, reduced horizontal visibility due to dust in desert areas, and poor visibility at night caused by fog and low clouds touching the ground over mountainous areas. The department advised exercising caution due to slippery roads at the onset of rainfall, securing loose objects, and avoiding crossing water accumulations and flood-prone valleys.

Today’s maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to range as follows:
 • East Amman: 13–4°C
 • West Amman: 11–2°C
 • Northern highlands: 9–2°C
 • Sharah highlands: 10–1°C
 • Desert areas: 15–3°C
 • Plains: 13–4°C
 • Northern Jordan Valley: 19–7°C
 • Southern Jordan Valley: 21–12°C
 • Dead Sea: 20–11°C
 • Aqaba Gulf: 23–10°C

Deepening of the Low-Pressure System

In the early hours of Tuesday, the impact of the low-pressure system and the very cold air mass will intensify. Winds will strengthen and temperatures will drop noticeably. The weather will be very cold, cloudy, and rainy across northern and central regions, as well as parts of the eastern and southwestern areas. Rainfall is expected to be heavy at intervals, accompanied by thunderstorms and hail in some areas, leading to flash floods in valleys and low-lying regions. Light snow flurries may fall over the peaks of high mountains, sometimes mixed with rain, with a slight chance of limited accumulation over the high southern peaks (Al-Sharah). Westerly winds will be active with strong gusts reaching 70–80 km/h, causing dust storms in desert and Badia regions. During the evening and night hours, rainfall intensity will weaken amid extremely cold conditions.

On Wednesday, temperatures will rise slightly. The weather will remain cold across most areas, with a continued chance of light, scattered showers from time to time in northern and central regions and limited parts of the southwestern areas. By evening, the chances of precipitation will diminish, and conditions will gradually stabilize. Westerly winds will be moderate, becoming active at times.

On Thursday, another slight increase in temperatures is expected. The weather will be foggy in the morning with cold conditions across most regions, while remaining relatively mild in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Low-level clouds will appear, and northwesterly winds will be moderate.
