AMMAN — National karate team athlete Abdelrahman Al-Masatfa won the bronze medal today in the -67 kg division at the Asian Games currently taking place in Japan.

Al-Masatfa's victory came after defeating Palestinian national team athlete Dhaifallah Mahmoud with a score of 4–0, securing Jordan's very first medal at the 2026 Asian Games.
Earlier in the tournament, Al-Masatfa secured wins in two bouts first against Laos's Somphone Bounna, followed by Kazakhstan's Olgas Altynbek before dropping a match in the semifinals to Uzbekistan's Abdulwahab Rashidov.
