The Olympic Committee has chosen national karate team players Joud Al-Dhroos and Abdulrahman Al-Musatfa to carry the Jordanian flag during the opening ceremony of the 20th Asian Games, hosted by the Japanese city of Nagoya and officially opening on the 19th of this month.

Jordan is participating in this edition with a delegation of about 70 male and female athletes, representing 16 sports: gymnastics, triathlon, karate, cycling, weightlifting, equestrian, jiu-jitsu, basketball, fencing, tennis, boxing, esports, taekwondo, mixed martial arts, squash, and climbing.
Competitions in this edition began on September 10 with basketball matches, while the games will be officially opened next Saturday, with the opening ceremony held at Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletics Stadium at 6:00 PM Nagoya time, 12:00 noon Amman time.
Jordan began its participation in the Asian Games since the 1986 Seoul edition, and has succeeded over nine previous participations in winning 54 medals: 5 gold, 21 silver, and 28 bronze.
