The new model builds on the success of “Gemini 3,” which outperformed several competing models since its release in November. Gemini 3.1 Pro is now available in the Gemini app and NotebookLM for subscribers of the Google AI Pro and Ultra plans, according to a Google blog post.
Gemini 3.1 Pro achieved a score of 77.1% on the ARC-AGI-2 test, more than doubling the reasoning performance of its predecessor, Gemini 3 Pro.
This level of advanced reasoning can be applied in practical scenarios where users need clear visual explanations of complex topics or data aggregation into a single presentation.
The launch of Gemini 3.1 Pro comes after a major update to Gemini 3 Deep Think last week, which added new capabilities in chemistry and physics, in addition to mathematics and programming.
Google stated that “Gemini 3.1 Pro” represents “core advanced intelligence that makes these breakthroughs possible.”
This model is designed to tackle complex research challenges, where problems often lack clear criteria or a single correct solution, and the data is frequently unstructured or incomplete.
