Apple has given its rugged Apple Watch Ultra 4 a major intelligence upgrade, introducing new AI-powered Siri features alongside improvements to health tracking and battery life.

With watchOS 27, Siri can better understand personal context and access a wider range of information. New AI features include Live Backtrack, which lets users review a text snippet from the previous 15 seconds of a conversation, as well as Siri Summary, which can provide a brief summary of a conversation.
The watch can also recognize surrounding sounds such as sirens, alarms, doorbells and a baby crying, while Shazam can automatically identify nearby music.
Apple says these audio features do not create or store audio recordings, with processing handled using the watch’s built-in technology and iPhone connectivity.
Beyond AI, the Ultra 4 offers improved health sensors, a new Readiness score from 0 to 10, and up to 50 hours of normal battery life or 84 hours in Low Power Mode.
The Apple Watch Ultra 4 is available in natural and black titanium, with a starting price of $799 in the US and general sales beginning September 18.
