The visit started from the Nakhila roundabout center, where the team was received by representatives of the Nakhila Tourism Association, before heading to the area and conducting a field tour to learn about the nature of the desert terrain and sand dunes that characterize the region, and what it provides as an ideal environment for practicing four-wheel drive sports.

The head of the Al-Nakhila Tourism Association, Attallah Al-Halayleh, confirmed that this visit represents an important step in highlighting the natural features of the region that qualify it to be a major destination in adventure tourism, noting that the association is working on developing the site and attracting quality events and activities that contribute to revitalizing tourism and enhancing the presence of Wadi Al-Nakhila on the desert tourism map in Aqaba, which will reflect positively on the local community and open new horizons for investment.

Ali Al-Ihiwat, Marketing and Media Advisor at the Al-Nakhila Tourism Association and President of the Jordanian Camel Racing Association, told Al-Rai that Wadi Al-Nakhila is one of the best areas for practicing four-wheel drive on sand dunes, thanks to its diverse terrain which allows for the design of multiple routes and the organization of different competitive stages. He added that the area has the potential to host professional competitions that can be divided into stages and levels of varying difficulty, giving it added value as a destination specializing in adventure tourism.

He explained that the proposed plan for organizing the events is based on dividing the competitions into three main zones, each comprising three levels of challenge, with scores being recorded at each stage leading to the final results. Al-Ahiwat indicated that the visiting team included 10 vehicles, and that the Wadi Araba Desert Adventures team, affiliated with the Al-Nakhila Association, also participated in the program, as part of its support for developing this type of tourism.

Al-Ahiwat noted that the Al-Nakhila tourism map aims to establish the area as a major destination for these and other sports, and as an Arab and international hub, given its strategic and central location and its proximity to land borders, ports, and airports.

The participants in the visit praised the area's beauty and diverse terrain, emphasizing that it is one of the best locations for four-wheel drive on the sand, offering natural challenges and varied routes, in addition to the organization and adherence to environmental standards.

This reflects a high level of awareness of the importance of the environment and tourism in the region, and an understanding of the importance of practicing this type of activity within a framework that preserves the area and promotes its sustainability.

The Wadi Nakhila area in Wadi Araba stands out as one of the promising areas for adventure tourism and desert sports in Aqaba, thanks to its sandy terrain and natural formations that give it a competitive advantage, and open the way for the creation of quality events and competitions that contribute to stimulating tourism and enhancing the region’s presence on the desert tourism map in the Kingdom.
