Run Jordan (the Jordanian Marathon Association) continues its preparations to organize the 16th edition of the Bromine Amman Marathon 2026, scheduled to take place on Friday, the 2nd of next month, under the patronage of His Highness Prince Firas bin Raad, with the participation of runners from Jordan and abroad.

This year's edition carries special significance after the Amman Marathon received the World Athletics Road Race Label 2026 from World Athletics, an achievement that strengthens its standing on the international road race calendar and is tied to a set of technical and organizational standards the association is working to implement across the various stages of the race.

Under the slogan "Run in the Heart of Amman," this year's marathon routes take runners through a number of the capital's streets and locations, making the city itself part of the race experience. The individual and relay marathon races, covering 42.195 km, and the half marathon, covering 21 km, will start at 6:00 a.m. from the Hashemite Plaza area, while participants with disabilities will start at 5:50 a.m.

The route extends through a number of streets in central Amman, passing through Quraysh Street, Ali bin Abi Talib Street, the Greater Amman Municipality area, King Talal Street, the Husseini Mosque, Al-Hashimi Street, and Al-Jaish Street, reaching the new Raghadan Complex, before returning past the Roman Amphitheater to finish at Hashemite Plaza. Marathon runners complete the route over four laps, half-marathon runners over two laps, while relay team members exchange roles at the end of each lap.

The 10 km race starts at 9:00 a.m. from Queen Alia Street opposite the Royal Cultural Center, and at 8:50 a.m. for participants with disabilities, passing through a number of the capital's streets before reaching the Fourth Circle, Uqba bin Nafi Street, the Abdoun and Wadi Abdoun areas, Ali bin Abi Talib Street, and Quraysh Street, also finishing at Hashemite Plaza.

Lina Al-Kurd, General Director of Run Jordan, said: "With every edition, we work on developing the runner's experience from the moment of registration through to crossing the finish line, and today the international classification gives us added motivation to continue working according to the highest organizational and technical standards. The race routes also give participants the chance to run through the heart of Amman, passing by a number of its well-known streets and locations, making the city itself part of the marathon experience."

Al-Kurd added that the association is working in coordination with official, security, and sports authorities to ensure the readiness of the routes, medical services and water stations, timing systems, and the organization of participant flow, in order to guarantee a safe and organized experience for runners.

The Amman Marathon's international classification comes as part of the development of Run Jordan's races, with both the Amman Marathon and the Red Sea Half Marathon having received the World Athletics Road Race Label 2026, supporting the international standing of Jordanian road races and opening the door to attracting more runners from the region and around the world.

The 16th edition includes the individual marathon over 42.195 km, the relay marathon over the same distance, the half marathon over 21 km, and the 10 km race, alongside categories designated for people with disabilities.

Registration to participate in the Bromine Amman Marathon 2026 remains open online through Run Jordan's official website, or in person at the association's office, with delivery service available for those who register online.
