Jordanian runner Zain Al-Wer opened Jordan's medal tally at the Arab Athletics Championship for Junior Boys and Girls, currently being held in Egypt, by winning the bronze medal in the 3000-meter race.

Al-Wer marked a notable Jordanian presence on the podium, giving Jordanian athletics its first medal of the championship, at the start of a campaign in which the national team hopes to strengthen its Arab standing and continue competing for top positions.
Al-Wer was awarded the bronze medal by Abdul Qader Al-Mahareeh, a member of the board of directors of the Jordan Athletics Federation, amid an atmosphere reflecting pride in this Jordanian achievement.
Media and Public Relations Director Khalil Al-Adwan affirmed that the Athletics Federation hopes Al-Wer's medal will serve as motivation for the rest of the national team's athletes to continue winning medals and achieving positive results in upcoming competitions, in a way that strengthens the presence of Jordanian athletics and raises the nation's flag high at the Arab Championship.
