Researchers at Seoul National University in South Korea have found that warming your feet can help you fall asleep faster, reduce nighttime awakenings, and improve overall sleep quality.اضافة اعلان

The scientists discovered that warm feet not only promote quicker sleep onset but also reduce the likelihood of waking up during the night. This is due to improved body temperature regulation—when the body doesn't need to expend extra energy to stay warm, it can rest more peacefully.

Doctors note that cold feet may result from low body temperature, tight shoes, or hormonal fluctuations—especially common in women. Another frequent cause is iron deficiency anemia, where low hemoglobin levels reduce oxygen delivery to tissues.

More concerning is the potential link to atherosclerosis, a vascular condition in which arteries narrow or become blocked by plaques. In advanced cases, it can lead to severe complications, including limb amputation.

Physicians recommend undergoing a vascular ultrasound of the lower limbs if you consistently experience cold feet, to rule out serious complications.

According to the researchers, sometimes all it takes for a good night's sleep is a pair of soft, comfortable socks. However, if the condition persists, it's important to listen to your body and consult a doctor to identify the underlying cause.
