Canadian singing star Céline Dion returned to the stage after a long absence, performing before tens of thousands of fans in Paris on Saturday, delivering her first concert in 6 years as tears streamed down her face.

The 58-year-old Canadian singer, who has rarely performed live in recent years, opened with the song "We Don't Change," visibly moved throughout, wiping away tears from her face. "I promised myself I wouldn't cry," Dion said, adding that she hadn't kept that promise.
At a packed Arena La Plénitude near Paris, she told the audience: "Tonight, I want to sing for you, sing for myself, and sing for life." Fans had traveled from across Europe to attend the concert.
Dion has been battling stiff person syndrome, a rare autoimmune disorder that means her ability to travel or perform depends on how she feels on any given day.
She had announced her return to touring earlier this year. Announcing her comeback shows, she said: "I'm feeling good, I'm strong, I'm excited, and of course, I'm a little nervous."
Dion is one of the most successful singers of her generation, having sold more than 200 million albums. Her biggest hits include "My Heart Will Go On" and "I'm Alive."
