Director Christopher Nolan's film The Odyssey has made a powerful debut at the North American box office, raking in $51 million on its opening day.

According to estimates, the film's revenue is projected to reach approximately $120 million by the end of the weekend, making it the third film in 2026 to cross the $100 million threshold in its opening weekend.
Based on the epic poem by the Greek poet Homer, the film tells the story of Odysseus's journey back home following the Trojan War. It stars Matt Damon leading an elite ensemble of Hollywood stars, including Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, Charlize Theron, Elliott Page, Jon Bernthal, and John Leguizamo.
Meanwhile, Moana dropped to second place, earning $5.5 million on Friday, with weekend projections reaching $19 million. Minions and Monsters came in third place, generating $4.3 million in revenue.
