Iraqi icon Kadim Al Sahir has officially joined the Recording Academy, the organization behind the prestigious Grammy Awards, following a formal invitation that the celebrated singer accepted.

The announcement was made via an official statement posted on Al Sahir’s Instagram page: "In a move that reaffirms his exceptional artistic stature among the world's most prestigious music institutions, artist Kadim Al Sahir was invited to join the Recording Academy, the organizing body of the international Grammy Awards."
The statement added: "The 'Caesar' has officially accepted the invitation to join a distinguished group of leading artists and members within the Academy."
The Recording Academy represents a global professional community of artists, music creators, and industry specialists across various sectors of the recording arts. Membership allows qualified creators to engage with the Academy's professional network and contribute to the Grammy Awards voting process in accordance with their respective membership categories and artistic specialties.
Al Sahir's invitation comes as part of the Recording Academy's new membership class announced in July 2026, which extended invitations to over 4,000 artists, music creators, and industry professionals from diverse genres and backgrounds.
Separately, Al Sahir recently performed a high-profile concert in Istanbul, Turkey, to a packed audience. The crowd sang along to his classic repertoire as well as selections from his newer releases.
