For its part, the competent court decided on Tuesday to reserve the lawsuit filed against actor Ahmed Ezz regarding the maid's wage arrears for a ruling in the session scheduled for next August 16, following the full settlement of the claimed sum of 570,000 EGP ($11,400 USD).
During the hearing, actor Ahmed Ezz settled the total outstanding amount for the maid's wages, which was officially recorded by the court prior to setting a date to issue its final verdict in the case.
The Nasr City Family Court had previously adjourned the lawsuit filed by actress Zeina—in which she demanded the imprisonment of Ahmed Ezz for failing to pay the accumulated maid's wages—to the session on July 28.
The competent court had previously upheld a ruling obligating Ahmed Ezz to pay a monthly maid allowance of 30,000 EGP ($600 USD), after rejecting the petition he submitted against the judgment.
The conflict between Ahmed Ezz and Zeina began in 2014 with a legal dispute involving a customary marriage (urfi) and establishing the paternity of her twin sons (Ezz El-Din and Zein El-Din), a matter that escalated across courtrooms for many years.
Zeina also obtained a court-ordered khul' divorce from Ahmed Ezz in 2017.
Subsequent lawsuits followed concerning alimony, educational expenses, and domestic staff wages, with the Family Court of Appeal issuing several rulings to adjust monthly child support and educational fees.
