Charitable hands reach out to the underprivileged through voluntary initiatives that embody compassion and love across all segments of society, recognizing that investing in youth energy contributes to sustainable community development.
Voices from the Field
From the Mazar al-Janubi district, voluntary activist Ibrahim Al-Nawayseh shared that Ramadan is a month of goodness and giving above all else—a spiritual period for self-reformation through devotion to God and acts of charity.
Muayyad Al-Maghasba, supervisor of the "Southern Ghor Volunteers" initiative, stated that his team operates under a systematic plan to execute youth and voluntary projects year-round, with a special focus on Ramadan. Since the beginning of the month, the team has distributed Iftar meals to underprivileged families across the district, as well as water packages to various mosques.
Impact on Families
"Um Sharif" Al-Habashneh, a mother of three and a beneficiary of these initiatives, expressed that such efforts alleviate the burdens on needy families and reflect the true spirit of social solidarity. Similarly, Izdihar Al-Sa'oub, President of the Mesha the Moabite Society, noted that her organization has been active since the start of Ramadan, engaging local volunteers to reach families across the governorate.
Organized Institutional Support
Ma’an Al-Shamayleh, President of the Union of Charitable Societies in Karak, confirmed that the Union has prepared an integrated plan for Ramadan initiatives. This includes distributing food parcels and shopping vouchers in cooperation with donors and local philanthropists.
Nasr Al-Ma'aqbeh, Director of Social Development for Karak Kasbah, explained that the directorate’s plan—aligned with the Ministry of Social Development’s strategy—is based on a genuine partnership between societies and supporting entities. This approach aims to coordinate field efforts, ensuring that aid reaches its rightful recipients with justice and transparency.
