Al-Rafou explained that the strategy includes intensifying inspection campaigns across markets and commercial shops. Oversight teams are working in 24-hour shifts to ensure compliance with approved health standards and to verify the safety and suitability of food items in both retail markets and merchant warehouses.

He noted that the directorate is paying special attention to Ramadan-specific products due to high demand. Periodic samples of dates, Qatayef, juices, dairy, and meats are being collected and subjected to laboratory testing to ensure they meet standard specifications and safety requirements.

Furthermore, Al-Rafou stated that the directorate is promptly addressing citizen complaints and taking legal action against violators. This includes seizing and destroying items unfit for human consumption, referring offenders to the competent judicial authorities, and cracking down on street vendors to confiscate and destroy food prepared under unsanitary conditions.

The campaigns are being executed in coordination with the Royal Administration for Environmental Protection and relevant government entities to monitor any emerging issues throughout the holy month.

Al-Rafou emphasized that these regulatory campaigns will continue throughout Ramadan as part of a proactive approach to ensure the safety of food supplies and enhance public health and safety in the city of Aqaba.
