The hosting objectives focused on introducing Aqaba’s integrated tourism offering and highlighting its role as a main gateway to the most important tourist destinations in southern Jordan, foremost among them Wadi Rum and the city of Petra, while emphasizing the ease of access to these world-renowned sites via Aqaba.

The visit program included field tours to Wadi Rum, where delegation members had the opportunity to experience the region’s unique desert landscape, explore desert tourism patterns, tourist camps, and activities related to eco-tourism and adventure tourism—reflecting the richness and diversity of the tourism experience in the area.

The program also featured a visit to the ancient city of Petra, one of the world’s most significant tourist and heritage sites. The delegation learned about the city’s historical and cultural assets and the opportunities it offers to design comprehensive tourism programs that combine culture, nature, and adventure.

In Aqaba, the delegation reviewed the hotel product and diverse tourism services through visits to a number of hotels and resorts, in addition to holding professional meetings with Jordanian inbound tourism offices. These meetings aimed to build partnerships, conclude business deals, and open direct channels of cooperation with the participating European markets.

ASEZA affirmed that this hosting initiative falls within its strategy to diversify tourism markets, enhance European tourism, and promote Aqaba as a primary gateway to Wadi Rum and Petra—contributing to increased visitor numbers, revitalizing tourism activity, and supporting the local economy.
