The Higher Steering Committee for the "Rural Fils" (Fils ar-Reef) fund, chaired by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, has approved the lists of homes and sites to be connected to the national electricity grid for January. The project covers 131 homes and sites with a total investment of JD 652,000.

In a press statement on Sunday, Al-Kharabsheh noted that the committee approved various residential and economic projects following an expansion of service criteria under the revised regulations for grid connectivity.
Detailed Allocation of Funds
Hisham Al-Momani, Director of the Electricity and Rural Electrification Directorate at the Ministry, detailed the distribution of the approvals as follows:
Residential Clusters: JD 142,000 for clusters of five homes outside municipal boundaries, and JD 51,000 for clusters of at least three homes.
Individual Homes: JD 41,000 for individual homes outside municipal boundaries that are near existing networks.
Underprivileged Families: JD 4,000 to support low-income families residing within municipal boundaries in electricity concession areas.
Supporting Food Security and Investment
In an effort to bolster self-reliance and national food security, the fund allocated:
Livestock & Agriculture: JD 35,000 for poultry, cattle, sheep, and fish farms within poverty pockets outside municipal boundaries.
Irrigation: JD 36,000 to provide electricity for farms equipped with artesian wells.
Productive Projects: JD 292,000 to support industrial and investment projects in poverty pockets, provided they create jobs for local Jordanians.
Public Services and Renewable Energy
The committee also approved several community-focused initiatives:
Public Safety: JD 6,000 for lighting roads leading to cemeteries.
Government & Civil Society: JD 39,000 for projects run by government sectors and agricultural/charitable cooperatives.
Renewable Energy: Approval for installing on-grid solar PV systems for six homes belonging to underprivileged families and National Aid Fund (NAF) beneficiaries. This move aims to lower monthly electricity bills and improve their economic well-being.
