Minister Hijazin emphasized the importance of the project in enhancing understanding of the Nabataean civilization, particularly during the pre-Christian era, noting that Qasr Al-Bint features a Roman-style architectural structure and that around 90% of Petra remains undiscovered to this day.
Al-Brizat stated that the visit aimed to review the progress of excavations carried out by the French mission, highlighting significant archaeological finds emerging in the area. He added that the authority is committed to sustaining excavation efforts and expanding cooperation with the French team to include broader archaeological research.
The project is managed by a specialized team from the French Institute of the Near East (IFPO) in Amman, under the direct supervision of the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority.
