CEO of Aqaba Development Corporation, Hussein Safadi, affirmed that the company is working under a clear strategy to enhance Aqaba’s position both locally and regionally.

In radio remarks discussing the company’s projects and key investment sectors, Safadi highlighted the establishment of the International Exhibition Center, which hosted several events including the SOFEX exhibition, along with entertainment and musical programs organized by the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority.
He revealed plans to host international exhibitions next year to attract exhibition tourism, noting future projects west of King Hussein International Airport, including a heritage aircraft museum and an international racetrack covering 1,000 dunums.
Safadi emphasized that the company is focused on strengthening Aqaba’s regional logistics role and is working according to an investment framework that includes 6–7 projects currently undergoing feasibility studies to attract investors, while providing all necessary investment support.
He noted cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Economy to modernize internal systems and advance the Digital City project on the southern beach, in addition to collaboration with the Crown Prince Foundation to attract the G42 School and projects in technology and artificial intelligence sectors.
Safadi also pointed to initiatives supporting the local community, including upgrading Aqaba Stadium to meet Jordanian and Asian Football Federation standards, partnerships with the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Tkiyet Um Ali, as well as youth programs providing employment opportunities.
He highlighted specialized projects aligned with royal directives, such as establishing an international academy for underwater welding and cutting, which has already graduated 20 civilian and military students to form the nucleus of a permanent academy in this high-demand regional and international field.
Safadi concluded by emphasizing that Aqaba will witness a qualitative leap over the next ten years in industrial, logistical, vocational training, tourism, and creative industry sectors.
