According to the Ministry of Tourism’s accomplishments report, the Kingdom received approximately 540,000 visitors last month, reflecting continued growth in demand for Jordan as a destination, and achieving the indicator related to the total number of visitors (overnight and same-day) within the Economic Modernization Vision.
Tourism revenues for October this year also increased by 3.4% compared to the same period last year, reaching USD 600.8 million, consistent with the vision’s target related to total spending by inbound visitors and the efforts to enhance tourism income and support sector growth.
Regarding domestic tourism, the “Our Jordan is Paradise” program saw the participation of around 25,000 Jordanians in October, helping support the local services sector and expand economic benefits across provinces. To improve service quality and raise competitiveness, the ministry carried out 185 awareness and inspection tours of tourism establishments, and processed 64 complaints according to approved procedures, strengthening safety and visitor experience standards — key pillars of improving the business environment under the modernization vision.
As part of initiatives supporting local development and sustainable tourism, the ministry signed a memorandum of understanding with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority to regulate tourism professions and activities. It also added Qatraneh Castle to the “Our Jordan is Paradise” itinerary, launched school trips to Petra, and expanded awareness and community cleanup campaigns in partnership with Nahnu and the Youth Imprints Initiative, all of which align with the vision’s goals of empowering communities, increasing youth engagement, and expanding economic participation.
Jordan also recorded an important international milestone with Al-Azraq Al-Shimali Village being selected among the Best Tourism Villages in the World for 2025, strengthening the Kingdom’s position on the global tourism map and supporting investment and destination competitiveness goals within the vision.
The ministry also launched training programs for service providers along the Jordan Trail in Um Qais, and completed another program in Ajloun, as part of the project to train job seekers and workers in the tourism sector, supporting skills development within the industry.
Within efforts to protect national heritage and in line with the modernization vision’s initiative to safeguard archaeological, cultural, and tourism sites, the Department of Antiquities announced the inclusion of King Abdullah I’s Palace in the ALECSO Register of Architectural Heritage for 2025, and launched projects to preserve and rehabilitate archaeological sites in Abila, Mukawir, and Jerash, in addition to completing seven field excavations with international missions.
The department also incorporated some of these projects into the second executive program of the Economic Modernization Vision 2026–2029, helping enhance the cultural tourism product — a key pillar in tourism diversification.
In the area of international promotion and market expansion, the Jordan Tourism Board continued its efforts by launching a joint strategy with Qatar to strengthen outreach to Gulf markets, hosting the Global Destination Wedding Planners (DWP) Congress, kicking off the Jordan Trail National Hike, and securing two Gold Awards at Expo 2025 Osaka, opening greater opportunities in Asian markets.
Air connectivity also saw notable expansion, with Ryanair announcing an expanded winter schedule to Amman, featuring 300,000 seats to 18 destinations, and Eurowings launching two weekly flights from Stuttgart to Amman, supporting the vision’s initiative to enhance Jordan’s international air links as a key step toward increasing visitor numbers.
