The number of visitors to tourist and archaeological sites in Madaba Governorate recorded a significant increase in 2025, reaching 259,664 visitors, compared with 193,983 visitors in 2024 — a 34% rise. This indicates the beginning of a recovery in Madaba’s tourism sector.اضافة اعلان

According to statistics published on the website of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Mount Nebo topped the list of most visited sites, attracting 259,664 visitors. St. George’s Church (the Church of the Map) ranked second, with 151,088 visitors.

The Madaba Visitor Center received approximately 137,786 visitors. Meanwhile, the Archaeological Park, the Burnt Palace, the Madaba Museum, and the Church of the Apostles — included under the unified ticketing system — recorded around 8,000 visitors.

The Machaerus archaeological site welcomed 18,160 visitors, while Ma’in Hot Springs attracted 66,159 visitors. The Dead Sea Panorama recorded 32,906 visitors during the same year.

This growth in visitor numbers reflects joint efforts by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and relevant stakeholders, as well as ongoing promotion of the governorate’s tourist and archaeological sites, which are considered among the Kingdom’s most important religious, cultural, and tourism destinations.
