AMMAN — Centro Mada Amman Hotel has
committed to being a leader among green and environmentally-friendly hotels in
Jordan by making environmental sustainability an intrinsic part of its model
and adopting its principles in all its operations, according to the Jordan News
Agency, Petra.

Amman’s vision, which is based on Rotana Group’s corporate sustainability
platform Rotana Earth, aims to make the group a leader in its sector by
applying sustainable business practices that contribute to the reduction of
damage to the environment and advancing environmental and economic benefits for
the local community.
To that end,
Centro Mada Amman, with 194 rooms and 10 suites, has adopted several
environmental policies that comply with best international practices, including
a solar energy system and energy-saving light systems which power the entire
hotel.
The hotel also
upholds a paper and plastic recycling policy throughout its facilities and is
an avid supporter of Green Wheelz, a non-profit initiative that collects solid
waste items for recycling as a means of supporting the local economy,
protecting the environment, and reducing the burden on landfills.
Proceeds from
sales are donated to the provision of care for persons with disabilities,
children affected by cerebral palsy, and early childhood education.
The hotel also
offers clients e-check-in facilities, which eliminates the use of paper, and is
working on becoming plastic-free in the near future.

Mada Amman’s general manager, said: “Our entire team works to make the hotel a
model of sustainability by applying the best and most stringent environmental
policies in the world and promoting green practices”.
“This is in line
with our belief in the importance of our role in addressing climate change and
protecting the environment by reducing energy consumption, protecting water
sources, and promoting effective administration through the management of the
available natural resources,” he said.
Akil pointed out
that in light of the challenges facing the environment, eco-hotels have become
the choice of responsible tourism.
The hotel is the ideal
choice in Amman, minutes away from embassies and ministries in Abdoun and close
to Amman’s main shopping malls, tourist attractions and corporate hubs, including
the King Hussein Business Park.
