Public debt to GDP ratio reaches 109.7% by end of August

AMMAN — The ratio of the total public debt to GDP in Jordan amounted to 109.7 percent until the end of August, according to recent data by the Ministry of Finance, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.اضافة اعلان

Data shows that the total public debt amounted to JD37.101 billion in the first eight months of 2022, including the debt held by the Social Security Investment Fund (SSIF).

However, according to the data, the balance of public debt until the end of August, after excluding the debt owed to the SSFI, amounted to JD29.59 billion, or 87.6 percent of GDP.

The debt held by the SSIF reached JD7.5 billion.

Income tax revenues rose by JD381 million, to JD1.29 billion in eight months, according to data.
