The highest recorded electricity load on Sunday reached 4,100 megawatts, according to data from the National Electric Power Company (NEPCO).
NEPCO Director General Sufian Al-Battayneh had earlier affirmed the readiness of the Kingdom’s technical power system for the current winter season, noting that measures have been taken to enhance grid reliability and reduce the likelihood of power outages.

Jordan has been affected since the early hours of Monday by a weather depression centered east of the island of Cyprus. The weather is cold and cloudy, with rainfall across northern and central parts of the Kingdom as well as parts of the eastern regions. Rain is expected to be heavy at times in the north and center, accompanied by thunderstorms and hail, according to a report by the Jordan Meteorological Department.
