AMMAN — Head of the wedding-venue owners union, Mamoun Al-Manaseer, said that the upcoming days will pose a total setback to the weddings and functions sector after private farms have become a more favored venue to hold parties and weddings, according to Khaberni news. اضافة اعلان

Manaseer said that private farms have been competing with other wedding venues, noting that these farms are not licensed and operate without any kind of monitoring.

Manaseer said that the union has recommended to the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and to the Ministry of Interior to stipulate the licensing of these farms under the category “Hospitality House”, to impose taxes and request licensing fees from owners.

Manaseer also complained that demand on wedding venues has dropped to 15 percent; hardly sufficient to cover salaries and electricity bills, calling for government intervention to salvage the sector.
