New customs tariffs bound to reduce smuggling

AMMAN — Director-General of the General Customs Department Jalal Al-Qudah said that reducing and unifying the customs tariffs will contribute to cut down smuggling, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.اضافة اعلان

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Qudah said that the goods most smuggled, especially in the Aqaba Economic Zone, are clothes and shoes, adding that the new measures will also help lower bill manipulation.

Finance Minister Mohamad Al-Ississ announced on Monday the decision to reduce and unify customs duties on goods, which will have a positive impact on the private sector and the economy in general.
