Jordan Knocks on the Doors of the Japanese Tourism Market with High-Level Meetings with Leading Travel Industry Stakeholders
Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Dr. Imad Hejazeen on Thursday began the official program of the Jordanian delegation’s visit to Japan with a series of high-level meetings with leading figures and institutions in Japan’s tourism and travel industry, aimed at strengthening Jordan’s presence in the Japanese market and opening broader avenues for cooperation between the two countries.

The meetings were attended by Jordan’s Ambassador to Japan, H.E. Nasser Al-Sherida, and members of the Jordanian Embassy team, alongside the Jordanian tourism delegation, including Mr. Hani Al-Dabbas, Vice Chairman of the Board of the Jordan Hotels Association and a member of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Tourism Board, and Mr. Nabih Ria, President of the Jordan Inbound Tourism Association.
The first day featured meetings with senior representatives of JTB Corp., one of Japan’s leading travel and tourism companies, as well as the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA). Discussions focused on opportunities to expand cooperation and increase the flow of Japanese tourists to Jordan.
Dr. Hejazeen and the delegation also participated in the Meeting of Tourism Ministers and the International Meeting of Tourism Leaders, attended by ministers, policymakers and representatives of international tourism organizations.
The meetings form part of efforts to move Jordan-Japan tourism relations beyond traditional promotion towards more effective partnerships, while strengthening Jordan’s position as a leading cultural, religious and tourism destination in the Asian market.
The first day concluded with participation in the official reception ceremony. The Jordanian delegation will continue its meetings with tourism stakeholders, airlines and Japanese media organizations, with the aim of opening new avenues for cooperation and expanding the promotion of Jordan as a tourism destination in Japan.
