Jordanian government borrowed JD2.7b in 2022

New loans brought total public debt up to JD38.5b

AMMAN — The Jordanian government borrowed JD2.723 billion during 2022, according to data issued by the Ministry of Finance.اضافة اعلان

The Kingdom’s public debt reached JD38.489 billion last year, compared to JD35.766 billion in 2021, Ammon News reported.

This brought the public-debt-to-GDP ratio to 111 percent last year.

Meanwhile, the total debt owed by the government to the Social Security Investment Fund reached JD7.822 billion.
