The event brought together participants from different generations, backgrounds, and fields to take part in a one-day challenge focused on developing practical software and technology solutions using AI-powered development tools.

The initiative reflected a shift from simply learning about and consuming technology toward using it to build practical solutions.

Working within a defined timeframe, participants were able to develop functional products and software in a single day, rather than relying on presentations or traditional discussion sessions. The experience focused on hands-on building and turning ideas into usable products.

The partnership with MENA AI follows Jordan Source’s investment mission to the United Kingdom in October 2025, which formed part of a series of international engagements and meetings aimed at connecting Jordanian tech talent with global technology companies and investors.

The organization of the Generational Buildathon in Amman marks the first practical implementation of this partnership in Jordan, reinforcing the program’s efforts to build new bridges between Jordanian talent and global technology companies and to create more opportunities for local professionals.

Jordan produces around 12,000 information and communications technology graduates annually, while people under the age of 30 account for nearly two-thirds of the country’s population, highlighting the scale of Jordan’s young talent base.

Jordan Source works to strengthen the international presence of Jordanian talent, showcase local technological capabilities to global technology companies, and attract partnerships and investments that contribute to creating employment opportunities for this talent both inside and outside Jordan.

Bassem Abu Na’meh, Founder of MENA AI, said that his meeting with Jordan Source in London demonstrated the program’s focus on results and tangible achievements rather than presentations, as well as its belief in the strength of Jordan’s technology talent pool.

He added that the collaboration with Jordan Source provided an opportunity to test the idea that Jordanian talent does not operate in isolation from its community, but is an integral part of it.

This vision led to hosting the first Build with Replit: Family Edition in Jordan, bringing together people from different generations to work collectively on developing solutions to everyday challenges.

Abu Na’meh noted that what stood out in the experience was that participating teams were not simply learning how to use AI tools, but were actively using them to build products and solutions at a level capable of competing across the different markets in which the company operates.

Amjad Al-Sadeq, representing Replit at the Jordan Builds event, said that participating in the event provided an opportunity to see people from different generations, backgrounds, and fields come together around a shared goal of building and producing.

He stressed that Jordanian youth should not be limited to consuming technology, but should also play a role in creating and developing it. He noted that Replit’s tools help shorten the distance between an idea and a functional product, enabling individuals to develop solutions in Jordan that can reach global markets.

Jordan Source continues to expand its network of international partnerships, with its upcoming engagements including the Discover Digital Jordan event scheduled for September 2026, as part of its efforts to showcase Jordan’s technology ecosystem and connect local talent and companies with global opportunities.
