Senator Khalil El-Haj Tawfiq, President of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, discussed ways to enhance economic and commercial relations and expand areas of cooperation between the business communities of both countries with the Ambassador of Georgia to the Kingdom, Archil Dzuliashvili.

According to a chamber statement issued on Wednesday, the meeting addressed opportunities to increase trade volume, the necessity of networking between private sector organizations in Jordan and Georgia, facilitating communication among business owners, providing information on available economic and investment opportunities, and exploring prospects for cooperation in tourism, services, information technology, education, and agriculture.
El-Haj Tawfiq emphasized the presence of promising opportunities to broaden economic cooperation between the two nations, noting that this requires intensifying mutual visits, exchanging delegations, and hosting joint exhibitions.
He highlighted the importance of working toward signing a cooperation agreement with the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and establishing a joint Jordanian-Georgian Business Council to serve as an organized institutional framework.
Furthermore, he stressed that the Kingdom possesses an attractive investment environment, a strategic location, and free trade agreements that grant access to numerous markets. This provides Georgian companies with an opportunity to leverage Jordan as a gateway to regional markets and major economic blocs.
El-Haj Tawfiq affirmed the Jordan Chamber of Commerce's readiness to receive business leaders interested in investing in Jordan and brief them on investment opportunities across the Kingdom.
For his part, Ambassador Dzuliashvili affirmed his country's keenness to develop economic relations with Jordan, noting that there are viable opportunities to build upon to increase trade and investment exchange and strengthen engagement between the two business communities.
He highlighted the importance of establishing a direct and regular air route between the two countries to support tourism and trade, pointing out that while some flights are operated by private Jordanian airlines, they remain insufficient.
He also noted that Georgia welcomes a significant number of Jordanian medical students annually, alongside thousands of Jordanian tourists. He affirmed that the embassy will work in the coming period—in partnership with the Jordan Chamber of Commerce and the Jordanian private sector—to link up with Georgian private sector organizations and provide business communities with further information on commercial and investment opportunities.
The Georgian Ambassador extended an invitation to El-Haj Tawfiq to lead an economic delegation on an official visit to Georgia. Both sides agreed to convene a virtual meeting next month featuring the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Jordanian Embassy in Baku, and the Georgian Embassy in Amman to establish an economic roadmap for the next phase between the two countries.
