Volunteers from Housing Bank's “Imkan
by Iskan” team participated in harvesting crops at Addar/Bab Amman Farm,
operated by the Dar Abu Abdullah in Jerash. Supported by the bank, the farm
uses hydroponic farming technology to help create sustainable livelihood
opportunities for beneficiary families.

The harvest marked the successful
completion of the first agricultural cycle under Housing Bank's support for the
hydroponic farming project. The initiative forms part of the bank's
long-standing partnership with Dar Abu Abdullah, established in 2022, and
reflects its ongoing commitment, through the Imkan by Iskan social
responsibility program, to empowering vulnerable communities by promoting
self-reliance and sustainable income generation.
The partnership complements
the bank's broader social impact efforts, including its long-standing
collaboration with Tkiyet Um Ali.
As part of its support, Housing Bank
funded two agricultural cycles at Addar/Bab Amman Farm this year, covering the
costs of seeds and seedlings, providing essential agricultural equipment, and
delivering practical training for participants.
To further strengthen the
project's long-term viability, the bank also financed the establishment and
equipping of a fully integrated crop sorting and packaging unit at the farm.
Once operational, the facility will enhance the quality and marketability of
the produce, streamline sales, and generate a more sustainable source of income
for beneficiary families.
By investing in both agricultural
production and post-harvest infrastructure, the project is expected to become
increasingly self-sustaining, with revenues helping finance future agricultural
cycles and maximize its long-term developmental impact.
The event also saw volunteers working
during the harvest and crop preparation, underscoring the importance of
volunteerism as a key pillar of Imkan by Iskan.
As part of its continued
support for the initiative, Housing Bank has also financed the operation of
nine greenhouses, further expanding the project's capacity and impact.
