The Electricity Distribution Company announced Wednesday that it has replaced around 97% of its customer meters with smart meters.
The company told Al-Mamlaka that it has completed the replacement of all meters in Tafileh Governorate, while the replacement rate has reached about 98% in Ma’an Governorate and the Jordan Valley region. Work continues to complete the project across all service areas by the end of 2025.

The company explained that the smart meter transition project, carried out in coordination with the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission, will allow for a wider range of advanced services for customers as part of an ongoing implementation plan.
The company also revealed that it is developing a new package of electronic services — described as the first of its kind in the region — expected to be made available to customers within the next three months.
