He said that the customs department services all investors and industries, effecting customs transactions and filing in data 24 hours a day, including during public holidays, through several computerized customs systems.

This year, the center dealt with a total of 14,314 customs declarations at HIE and 1,100 customs declarations in Cyber City, which also falls within its jurisdiction, with the value of customs proceeds amounting to some JD2.9 million. By the end of the year, the proceeds are expected to exceed JD3 million, said Mahasneh.

He pointed out that the center, in addition to applying customs regulations in the service of investors and traders, holds periodic meetings with strategic partners, be they relevant government regulatory authorities or factory owners, as well as specialized training courses in customs-related disciplines and industry in general for students at Jadara University, under an agreement signed to that end.

The general manager of the Traditional Fashion Company, one of the largest investing companies, said the services provided by the customs personnel are “amazing”, adding that they provide all the necessary facilities, in accordance with the laws and regulations in force, thus lending support to the economy and ensuring the smooth flow of goods in and out the estate.
