According to figures obtained by the Jordan News Agency (Petra), 149,178 inbound containers were processed through the terminal between January and April 2025, up from 121,843 containers during the same period last year.

Export activity also saw growth, with 33,575 outbound containers recorded—an increase of 12.8% compared to 29,764 containers in the first third of 2024.

In April 2025 alone, the terminal handled 39,557 inbound containers, marking a 15.9% rise from April 2024 (34,135 containers). Exported containers for the month also increased by 13.8%, reaching 7,882 containers versus 6,928 in April 2024.

Nabil Al-Khatib, President of the Jordanian Logistics Syndicate and First Vice President of the Amman Chamber of Commerce, attributed this notable rise to a recovery in trade activities at the port, particularly in shipments heading to Syria and the West Bank.

Al-Khatib highlighted that the port’s revived activity is expected to positively impact Jordan’s commercial, service, and transportation sectors, noting that the transport sector remains a cornerstone of the national economy.

The Jordanian Logistics Syndicate, established in 2007, represents professionals in Jordan’s shipping industry, works to foster a competitive environment, and holds membership in the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA), founded in Vienna in 1926.
