The agreement was signed on behalf of Jordan by Dr. Khalid Al-Bakkaar, Minister of Labor and Chairman of the Vocational Training Corporation, and on behalf of Morocco by Younes Sekkouri, Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Enterprises, Employment and Skills, in the presence of Jordan’s Ambassador to Morocco Jumana Ghunaimat and Director General of the Vocational Training Corporation Dr. Ahmad Al-Gharaibeh.
Both sides agreed to immediately develop an executive plan to lay the foundation stone of the project in Amman and commence implementation.
Al-Bakkaar stated that this agreement is a result of the historic fraternal relations between the two countries and the strong ties between His Majesty King Mohammed VI and his brother His Majesty King Abdullah II.
He stressed that His Majesty King Abdullah II is keen on strengthening Jordan’s relations with Arab brothers in general, and holds in high esteem the deep-rooted ties with the Kingdom of Morocco and His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
Al-Bakkaar conveyed Jordan’s gratitude, government and people alike, to King Mohammed VI for this joint cooperation, which will contribute to training Jordanian youth in alignment with labor market needs.
He noted that, under the agreement, the Jordanian government has allocated an 11-dunum plot of land on Airport Road in Amman for the establishment of the institute, to be developed in three phases.
He underlined the importance of benefiting from Morocco’s distinguished experience in vocational training—known in Morocco as formation professionnelle—particularly in employment-linked training programs and apprenticeship schemes.
During the visit, Al-Bakkaar reviewed Morocco’s “TVET Ecosystem” model to draw on its experience and transfer it to Jordan, with the aim of preparing and training Jordanian youth to enter the labor market.
For her part, Jordan’s Ambassador to Morocco Jumana Ghunaimat expressed appreciation for the cooperation of the Moroccan government, Minister Sekkouri, and the ministry’s staff in reaching this milestone in bilateral relations.
Minister Younes Sekkouri emphasized the depth of the brotherly relations between the two kingdoms, under the strong attention of King Mohammed VI and King Abdullah II, and welcomed this new cooperation, which strengthens joint ties in service of youth and their future.
He stressed the need to expedite the executive plan and ensure technical teams from both sides coordinate to bring the project into reality.
Meanwhile, Director General of the Vocational Training Corporation Dr. Ahmad Al-Gharaibeh explained that an agreement was reached between the corporation and Lubna Attrisha, Director of the Moroccan Office of Vocational Training and Employment Promotion (OFPPT), to begin training in vital fields such as healthcare and pharmaceuticals, maintenance of electric and hybrid vehicles, precision electrical equipment maintenance, advanced digital skills, as well as Moroccan culinary arts and hospitality.
Al-Gharaibeh confirmed that a set of new specializations will be developed in line with Morocco’s distinguished vocational training experience, particularly through knowledge exchange and specialized programs, in addition to sending Jordanian trainees to Morocco.
