The sessions come as part of the government’s efforts to engage Jordanian experts in developing the designs of the Omrah City project and its related initiatives, particularly the first phase, which includes productive investment projects such as an international exhibition and convention center, and an integrated sports city comprising an international football stadium, an adjacent Olympic city, and halls equipped to Olympic standards for various sports. Work on this phase is set to begin this year and will continue through 2029.

The sessions aim to hear participants’ views and proposals and to benefit from their expertise in order to reach the best models for sustainable urban development, contributing to the establishment of a modern green city that meets sustainability and quality-of-life standards, reflects Jordanian identity, and opens up promising investment and economic opportunities.

Five specialized sessions will be held, covering the following themes: urban development and planning; economic impact and future technologies; water, energy, and environment; culture and education; and sports, health, and mobility.

Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan launched the Omrah City project at the end of November 2025, with infrastructure works already underway. The project is intended to serve as a new model for urban development and long-term population growth management, and as the nucleus of a future model city for youth and the next generation, developed through well-structured planning. Its development phases will extend over 25 years and transcend successive governments.
