Iranian oil tankers have crossed the area of the U.S. naval blockade imposed on Iranian ports for nearly two months, according to maritime tracking website TankerTrackers.com on Wednesday, ahead of the signing of an agreement between Tehran and Washington scheduled for Friday.
The tracking service said on the social media platform X that “at least two Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) belonging to the National Iranian Tanker Company, named Diona and Hero 2, crossed the blockade zone enforced by the U.S. Navy.”
According to the report, the two vessels are carrying a combined total of 3.8 million barrels of Iranian crude oil. The site later reported that a third Iranian oil tanker had also crossed the area.
TankerTrackers added that these shipments represent “the first Iranian crude oil exports in two months.”
