AMMAN — The government's decision to raise the tax on hybrid vehicles by 10 percent has entered into force as of the beginning of 2022, according to Al-Ghad News.اضافة اعلان

A government decision issued in 2018 imposes an increase on hybrid vehicles tax, reaching 35 percent in 2019, 40 percent in 2020, and 45 percent in 2021, and 55 percent in 2022.

Dealers expect that the decision will raise the price of a single vehicle between JD1,500 and 3,000, and fear a low demand by citizens on this type of vehicle, which will ultimately affect the treasury’s revenue from this sector.

Dealers have demanded a freeze of the decision due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the economy, saying the government has not responded favorably.
