AMMAN — Hotels in Jordan’s capital, Amman, recorded the highest occupancy rate during the third week of July, as the average occupancy across three-, four-, and five-star hotels reached 39%, according to a report by the Jordan Hotels Association reviewed by Al Mamlaka.

The report showed that the total number of available room nights at three-, four-, and five-star hotels reached 532,860, of which 257,930 were occupied, while 274,930 remained vacant.

Amman ranked first among Jordan’s main tourist destinations, recording an occupancy rate of 65%, with 216,089 occupied room nights compared with 172,111 vacant room nights.

The Dead Sea ranked second with an occupancy rate of 49%, registering 39,655 occupied room nights and 36,545 vacant room nights.

Petra recorded the lowest occupancy rate during the period at 4%, with 2,186 occupied room nights compared with 66,274 vacant room nights, making it the least occupied of Jordan’s major tourist destinations.
