Data released by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply showed that Jordan's strategic reserves of wheat and barley are available in safe and comfortable quantities, covering local consumption for up to 10.3 months for wheat and 9.2 months for barley.

The data revealed that the actual available stock of wheat currently stands at 674,000 tons, a quantity sufficient to cover the Kingdom's consumption for several months.
The Ministry indicated that there are additional contracted quantities on their way to the Kingdom, totaling 300,000 tons, which raises the overall reserve to a level that covers local consumption for up to 10.3 months.
Regarding barley, official figures showed that the current stock available in warehouses amounts to 399,000 tons, which is enough to cover local needs for 4.6 months.
The data added that the contracted quantities of barley total 404,000 tons, which are sufficient to cover consumption for an additional 4.6 months, bringing the total consumption coverage period to 9.2 months.
The Ministry confirmed that it continues to issue regular and ongoing tenders to purchase wheat and barley according to the highest international quality standards, in line with strategic plans aimed at enhancing national food security and maintaining a safe strategic reserve that ensures supply stability and availability over long periods.
