The ACC President, Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq, in a meeting, spoke to the Jordanian ambassador to Morocco, Jumana Ghunaimat, and affirmed that the ACC would work in coordination with the Moroccan embassy to support and develop the two countries’ economic relations and increase their reciprocal trade exchanges.

In a press statement released by the ACC on Saturday, Tawfiq said Morocco constitutes “a gateway for Jordan to access West African countries’ markets,” just as the Kingdom is an opportunity for Moroccan business owners to establish investments and benefit from trade agreements signed with various global economic blocs.

Tawfiq affirmed the ACC’s readiness to provide the Jordanian Embassy in Morocco with any information about investment opportunities and commercial statistics in the Kingdom, in addition to receiving trade delegations.
The ACC Vice President, Nabil Khatib, said the two countries should seriously consider plans to establish a direct maritime line and facilitate visa issuance to contribute to developing and increasing trade relations, in addition to reducing shipping costs.

Ghunaimat said that she would work per His Majesty King Abdullah directives to implement economic diplomacy that serve the two countries’ interests at various levels and overcome any obstacles facing bilateral trade.
According to the Chamber’s statistical data, the volume of Jordan-Morocco trade exchange during the first half of this year amounted to nearly JD11 million.

Plant products, textile materials, and chemical industries are the most prominent Jordanian exports to the Moroccan market, while imports are food, textile materials, machinery, appliances, and electrical equipment.
