U.S. Says It Has Completed New Strikes Against Iranian Military Targets
The U.S. military said late Monday into Tuesday that its forces had completed a new wave of strikes against Iran.

In a statement, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said that during the five-hour mission, American forces successfully struck military targets across Iran, including Bushehr, Chabahar, Jask, Konarak, Abu Musa Island, and Bandar Abbas.

CENTCOM said it used precision-guided munitions to target Iranian coastal defense systems, missile and drone sites, and naval capabilities.

The command added that more than 50,000 U.S. troops are deployed across the Middle East and remain fully prepared to carry out their missions.

The strikes marked the third consecutive night of U.S. military operations against Iran, as President Donald Trump announced the reimposition of a naval blockade on Iranian ports and proposed imposing a 20% fee on cargo passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

In an earlier statement posted on X, CENTCOM said the strikes would continue to inflict heavy losses on Iranian forces and degrade their ability to attack civilians and commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The operation reportedly began at 16:45 local time (20:45 GMT).

Meanwhile, Iranian media reported hearing two explosions on Kish Island, along with additional explosions in Bandar Abbas in southern Iran and the Jam area of Bushehr Province, as U.S. strikes continued for a third straight day.

Iran’s official news agency IRNA said the cause of the explosions had not yet been determined, while confirming reports of blasts in Bandar Abbas.
